With a commitment to our vision that strong relationships drive strong results and better business, our people make Cooper Machinery Services legendary. Job Overview:The Mechanic I will perform duties related to the disassembly, positioning, reassembly, testing and painting of moderate to highly complex equipment utilizing a combination of manual, pneumatic and hydraulic tools for fitting, adjusting and securing maneuvers. Clean inspect and repair Natural gas engine and compressor components in a shop environment, must be able to adhere to all Environmental, Health and Safety rules and regulations, Be capable of reading detailed prints, use and read micrometers, dial calipers and dial indicators. Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:In the role of the Mechanic I, you will:Conduct all business-related tasks according to Cooper Machinery Services policiesDemonstrates an understanding of basic technical/machining principles. Tasks assigned are simple and routine in nature.Participates in problem solving exercises with trainer, lead, and supervisor.Demonstrates the ability to solve basic problems. Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems. Troubleshoots problems, on machine and makes required corrections. If necessary, consults with supervisor and or lead person for assistance in dealing with complex problems. Recognizes problems in machining process and reports to appropriate supervisor and/or lead person in a timely manner.Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Cooper Machinery Services BeliefsMaintain a safe, clean, and organized working environmentHave strong mechanical aptitude with an Oil & Gas background as well as the ability to use a wide range of mechanical tools and test equipmentComplete Risk Assessments prior to performing all operations and light to heavy weight material movements by means of cranes and lift trucksComplete all required business training and process documentation, as requiredBe responsible for ensuring facility equipment and tooling is accounted for, operating efficiently, and safelyIdentify, report, and mitigate problems or hazardous conditions that occur during equipment disassembly, assembly and test set-upPossess excellent Communication, Teamwork, and Collaborative Skills with team members and basic understanding of working to production schedules / plansTroubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on mechanical tooling & equipmentComplete required documentation with accurate information for routers, documents and inspection reportsPerform other related duties as assigned or indicated by management Qualifications/RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED required.
